His Holiness Pope Tawadros II visited the headquarters of the Armenian Orthodox Archdiocese in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, as part of his current visit to Romania during his pastoral tour of the Diocese of Central Europe, which began last Friday.

His Holiness was received by His Eminence Archbishop Datev, Archbishop of the Armenian Orthodox in Romania, along with a number of priests and a large gathering of members of the Armenian Church there.

During the meeting, His Holiness listened to a presentation by Archbishop Datev about the history of the Armenian Orthodox Church in Romania. He noted that the Church has around 5,000 members who have been residing in the country for nearly a thousand years. Currently, six priests serve them across 22 churches spread throughout various regions.

During the visit, His Holiness and his accompanying delegation chanted the Resurrection Hymn in Coptic as a spiritual expression of the unity of faith and the joy of the Resurrection. In his speech, he emphasized the fraternal relationship between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Armenian Orthodox Church.

The visit carried messages of love between the two churches, affirming the depth of their shared faith, spiritual bonds, and historical ties.
