His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and his accompanying delegation arrived this evening in Czechia, marking the fourth stop in his current pastoral visit of the Diocese of Central Europe.
Upon his arrival in the capital, Prague, His Holiness attended an official reception held in his honor by Ambassador Mahmoud Mostafa Afifi, Egypt’s Ambassador to Czechia.
The reception was attended by members of the Egyptian embassy, including Counselor Dr. Ahmed Azzam and Colonel Haitham Fouad, the military attaché. Also in attendance were a number of ambassadors accredited to Prague from various Arab and foreign countries, including Morocco, Lebanon, Russia, Armenia, Greece, Palestine, and Iraq.
During the reception, Ambassador Afifi expressed his pride in Pope Tawadros’s visit to Czechia, wishing it great success given the important messages of love and peace it carries.
For his part, His Holiness expressed his joy at visiting Czechia, highlighting the richness and depth of Egyptian civilization, shaped by various successive cultures. He described Egypt as a melting pot that harmoniously blends unity with diversity. His Holiness also pointed to the Nile River as the symbol of Egyptian unity — a force that connected the land and its people and instilled in them a love for peaceful living.
In conclusion, H.H. Pope Tawadros invited those in attendance to visit Egypt and experience its unique civilization and kind-hearted people firsthand.
