This morning, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II met with Dr. Aleksandar Raković, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Republic of Serbia.
The meeting featured a dialogue on the deep spiritual and civilizational role of the Coptic Orthodox Church and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the Coptic and Serbian Orthodox Churches within the framework of the historic and cultural relations between the two peoples.
During the meeting, Dr. Raković presented two books he had authored. The first focuses on the history of the Copts and has gained wide popularity among readers in Serbia due to its detailed documentation of the Copts’ presence in Christian history. The second explores theology within the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In turn, His Holiness presented Dr. Raković with a symbolic gift — a model of the Lighthouse of Alexandria inscribed with the Christian Creed in multiple languages, symbolizing the light of faith that spread from the Church of Alexandria to all corners of the world.
