H.H. Pope Tawadros II received a group of youth from the Diocese of the Southern United States at the Papal Residence in Cairo. The group arrived in Egypt last week, accompanied by Father Jerome Maximos, a priest from the diocese, to offer educational and awareness services in several churches in villages of Upper Egypt.
During the meeting, His Holiness praised the youth’s enthusiasm for coming to Egypt and offering their services. He was also keen to learn about their impressions of the service atmosphere, as well as their experiences of visiting historical sites. At the end of the meeting, he presented them with commemorative gifts and a passport from the HIGH Office.
The group took the opportunity of visiting their homeland to tour various historical landmarks and several Coptic churches and monasteries.
It is worth noting that this service visit was coordinated between the Diocese of the Southern United States and the “HIGH” Office, which is responsible for communication between the Coptic Church’s dioceses abroad and the areas most in need of service within the dioceses in Egypt. This office was established by a decision of the Holy Synod in its session held in March 2024. The name “HIGH” is an abbreviation of “Hands in God’s Hand”.
