Today (Friday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo, Their Eminences Metropolitan Yuhanon Mar Diascoros and Metropolitan Abraham Mar Stephanos, who conveyed the love and appreciation of H.H. Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, the Catholicos of the Indian Orthodox Church. They also delivered to Pope Tawadros a message from the Catholicos in response to the joint letter sent by H.H. Pope Tawadros II and H.H. Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Orthodox Church of the Great House of Cilicia in Lebanon, on May 25th, 2025.

During the meeting, His Holiness the Pope expressed his anticipation for an upcoming visit by His Holiness Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Mathews III to Cairo in the near future, in order to discuss the situation of the Indian Church. He emphasized the importance of working toward the common good and preserving the spirit of unity in the sister church.

The meeting was attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Thomas, Metropolitan of Qousia and Mir, and Deacon Joseph Reda, Deacon to H.H. Pope Tawadros II.
