H.H. Pope Tawadros II attended the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of students from the welding training program—one of the initiatives by the Papal Office for Projects—at the Papal Residence in Cairo this morning. The program aims to equip Egyptian youth for the labor market as part of a broader effort to support vocational education.
The ceremony was held in the presence of representatives from Military Factory 200, which partnered with the Papal Office for Projects to provide the practical training component within the factory, in addition to theoretical training conducted at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Abbassia.
The program also included sessions on personal development skills, such as CV writing and interview preparation, offered by the EGYCOPT Foundation.
His Holiness handed out certificates of completion to the graduates and emphasized in his speech the importance of vocational education and its role in creating real job opportunities for young people in Egypt. He also praised the contribution of technical training in supporting national industry and aiding the current wave of industrial development in the country.
Pope Tawadros encouraged Egyptian youth to pursue vocational and technical training, describing it as a promising field that offers tangible opportunities in the job market and strengthens the national economy.
The ceremony also saw the attendance of several business leaders who expressed interest in hiring some of the program’s graduates, acknowledging the high level of training they received. This initiative is seen as a step toward bridging practical training with real-world labor market needs.
