H.H. Pope Tawadros II met with the youth participating in the Fifth LOGOS Coptic Youth Forum in a series of roundtable discussions. The participants were divided into three groups: His Holiness first met with young people from our churches in Europe and Asia, followed by a second session with youth from the continents of Africa and Australia, and finally a third meeting with youth from North and South Americas.
In each session, His Holiness delivered a brief contemplative talk to the group, then listened to their inquiries regarding the reality of service and the challenges they face as young people in the countries where they reside.
The LOGOS Coptic Youth Forum brings together 250 young men and women from the Coptic Orthodox Church around the world, representing 44 countries across six continents.
The LOGOS Coptic Youth Forums for attendees from around the world consistently bear the motto “Back to the Roots”, while this year’s forum is held under the theme “Connected”. This theme affirms that our Coptic Orthodox Church is grounded in a continuous connection between its fathers and children, whereby the sound faith is passed down from generation to generation. The forum coincides with the Church’s celebration of the 17th centennial of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea. The theme “Connected” also reflects our connection to one another, to our communities, and to the tools of our present age—with openness rooted in our faith—fulfilling the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ: “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world”(Matthew 5:13–14).
