This morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II prayed the Divine Liturgy at St. Anthony’s Church in the Papal Residence in Cairo, with the participation of H.G. Bishop Yolyos, General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Bishopric of Services, and overseer of the Churches of the Arabian Gulf, along with a number of priests of the Gulf Churches and their families. This came at the conclusion of the 8th Annual Conference for the priests of the Coptic Orthodox Churches in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and the Sultanate of Oman, and their families, which was held at the Al-Manara Center in Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Abbassia over the past two days.
Following the Liturgy, His Holiness held a meeting with them, during which he delivered a talk that included pastoral messages from the Epistle of St. Paul the Apostle to the Hebrews (Hebrews 13:1–7), which serve as a kind of prescription for human conduct:
1) Brotherly love
2) Hospitality to strangers
3) Sharing in the sufferings of the imprisoned and mistreated
4) Honoring Christian marriage
5) Avoiding the love of money and being content
6) Trusting in God
7) The virtue of loyalty
H.H. Pope Tawadros also engaged in discussions based on their questions, making sure to consult with those present and listen to their views and suggestions.
