This morning, at the Papal Residence in Alexandria, H.H. Pope Tawadros II met with the members of the General Deputies of Coptic Hospitals in Alexandria.
Father Loka Abd El-Massih, Head of the General Deputies, expressed his appreciation for the care of His Holiness in encouraging and supporting the role of the Coptic hospitals.
Dr. Milad Abdou, a member of the Deputies, presented updates regarding the work of the Planning and Development Committee for medical institutions, while Dr. Sherif Wasfi presented the annual performance indicators of the General Deputies’ work.
Pope Tawadros honored Professor Dr. Magdy Aakel, member of the Deputies, on the occasion of his appointment as Head of the Surgical Departments at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria, wishing him continuous progress and excellence.
In his address, His Holiness expressed his joy at this meeting, greeting all those present. He then reflected on the verse: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14), noting that rays of light are straight, and likewise, a Christian should be upright in order to reflect the image of Christ to the world.
The meeting was also attended by Their Graces Bishop Pavly (General Bishop of the Montazah Churches Sector), and Bishop Hermina (General Bishop of the Churches of East Alexandria), along with Hegumen Abram Emil (General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria).
