This morning, at the Papal Headquarters in Alexandria, H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Hegumen Boules Sobhy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Bayt Al-Ne‘ma” Hospital, affiliated with the Church of Virgin Mary and St. Joseph in Smouha, Alexandria. He was accompanied by Father Samuel Milad, Vice Chairman of the Board, Dr. Adel Mashraqi, Hospital Director, and a number of board members. The meeting was also attended by Hegumen Abram Emil, General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria.

The delegation presented to His Holiness the challenges they have faced since assuming their responsibilities in May 2023. They also showcased a video highlighting the developments and renovations that have been accomplished during the past period, in addition to their future vision for the hospital’s work.

Pope Tawadros praised the efforts made to improve many of the hospital’s departments, expressing his best wishes for the planned expansions, and expressed his aspiration to visit the hospital in the near future.

He further commended the advanced vision guiding the hospital’s development, in alignment with its role and its distinguished location in the heart of Alexandria. As one of the hospitals affiliated with the General Secretariat of Church Hospitals in Alexandria, His Holiness valued the remarkable contribution of the Church in the healthcare sector as part of its responsibility in serving Egyptian society.
