This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II met with the wives of the priests of Alexandria at the theater adjacent to the Papal residence in Alexandria. The meeting was attended by the bishops who serve in Alexandria; Their Graces Bishop Pavly (of the Montaza district) and Bishop Hermina (of the Eastern Alexandria district), together with Hegumen Abram Emil (General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria).

His Holiness listened to them, responding to their questions and suggestions. He then delivered a talk, beginning by extending his greetings on the occasion of the start of the new Coptic year, known as the Feast of Nayrouz.

Pope Tawadros spoke on the virtue of wisdom, highlighting its presence in the Old Testament, where it is manifested in the Hypostasis of the Son, the source of wisdom for humanity. He referred to Abigail, whom he described as “wise and content,” noting her prudent dealings with King David, through which she preserved the life of her husband, Nabal.

He encouraged the reading of the Book of Wisdom, which contains divine commandments on how to acquire wisdom and live by it. This, he explained, is achieved through avoiding negativity and focusing on positive deeds. His Holiness then offered four key guidelines for attaining wisdom:
1. Flee from evil and anger, and seek peace.
2. Make good use of time, and practice continual encouragement.
3. Avoid impulsiveness, envy, gossip, and harmful comparisons.
4. Contentment and satisfaction.

After the meeting, His Holiness the Pope joined the wives of the priests at the Agabi table (food), and gave them some souvenirs.
