Today (Thursday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II attended the graduation ceremony of the first class of the German language course, held as part of the Summer Language Program organized by the Papal Office for Projects in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in Cairo and the German School of the Sisters of Saint Charles Borromeo in Bab El-Louk.
In his speech during the ceremony, hosted at the Papal Residence in Cairo, His Holiness expressed his joy at the inclusion of the German language in this year’s program, praising the fruitful cooperation between the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Austrian Embassy, and the German school. He affirmed that learning a new language provides a window into the future and offers young people broader horizons for communication and openness to the world. He also emphasized the Church’s commitment to nurturing the youth both spiritually and socially.
Representatives of the Austrian Embassy and the German school extended their gratitude and appreciation to His Holiness and to the Papal Office for Projects, affirming that the experience went beyond language learning, contributing as well to the development of social and personal skills. They added that languages build bridges of understanding and closeness among people.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the students and the taking of a commemorative group photograph with Pope Tawadros.
