Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II inaugurated Al-Iman (Faith) Club at Kerlomina Farm in El-Badari, as part of his pastoral visit to the Governorate of Asyut.
The inauguration was attended by H.G. Bishop Yoannes, Bishop of Asyut and Secretary of the Holy Synod, together with a number of metropolitans and bishops.
His Holiness toured the facilities of the club, which include an Olympic swimming pool within an indoor hall, as well as multiple areas and amenities equipped for conferences and gatherings.
At Al-Iman Club, His Holiness also received Major General Dr. Hisham Abou El-Nasr, Governor of Asyut, along with several of the governorate’s officials.
H.G. Bishop Yoannes, Bishop of Asyut and Secretary of the Holy Synod, delivered a welcoming address to His Holiness and to the Governor, praising the spirit of cooperation that prevails in the relationship between the Governorate and the Church. For his part, the Governor of Asyut expressed his joy at the visit of His Holiness to the Governorate, affirming that the entire community of Asyut is characterized by a spirit of fraternity, goodwill, and mutual respect—values consistently emphasized by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the pursuit of sustainable development.
Pope Tawadros then addressed those present, expressing his delight at being in this place, which he described as remarkably beautiful and a true addition to Asyut. He noted that the word “Aghapy” means “love,” and that genuine love is what enables us to serve one another.
He extended his gratitude to the Governor for the achievements accomplished in Asyut, and also saluted the Director of Security and his officers for their dedicated efforts. His Holiness further remarked that the Al-Iman Club is not merely a service project, but also a national mission dedicated to instilling in younger generations the values of integrity and belonging to their homeland.
