Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II laid the foundation stone for the “New Creation” Hospital, dedicated to the treatment of addiction cases and affiliated with the Diocese of Asyut.

His Holiness listened to an explanation about the hospital from Father Behnam Saeed, and expressed his joy at the vision and approach with which this new hospital project is being implemented. He also commended the encouragement and support of H.G. Bishop Yoannes, who has been fostering all service-oriented projects within the Diocese.

The laying of the foundation stone is part of His Holiness’ current pastoral visit to the dioceses and monasteries of Asyut Governorate.

Prior to beginning his visit to the Diocese of Asyut, His Holiness visited the Dioceses of Dayrut and Sanbo, Rizqat Deir Al-Muharraq, Al-Qusiya and Mir, Abnoub and Al-Fath, as well as New Asyut. He also visited the Al-Muharraq Monastery.
