H.H. Pope Tawadros II Meets the Monks of the Monastery of Saint Hermina, Mount Qaw, El-Badari, Asyut

This morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II met with the monks of the Monastery of Saint Abba Hermina, Mount Qaw, El-Badari, belonging to the Diocese of Asyut, at the monastery’s Kerlomina Farm.

H.G. Bishop Yoannes, Bishop of the Diocese of Asyut, Abbot of the Monastery, and Secretary of the Holy Synod, welcomed His Holiness, expressing his gratitude for the papal visit to the Diocese of Asyut. During this pastoral journey, His Holiness is scheduled to consecrate a number of churches, and meet with the officials of Asyut Governorate and the congregation of the diocese.

During the meeting, His Holiness delivered a spiritual talk on the theme of “The Simple Life.” He spoke on the following aspects:
* Simplicity of thought.
* Simplicity of understanding.
* Simplicity in dwelling and possessions.
* Simplicity in spiritual practice.
* Simplicity in labor.
* Simplicity in relationships.
* Simplicity of speech.

This gathering with the monks of Saint Hermina Monastery marks the first activity of His Holiness’ pastoral ministry in the Diocese of Asyut, which is the fifth diocese he visits within the scope of his present tour in Asyut Governorate.
