The Coptic Orthodox Church, under the leadership of H.H. Pope Tawadros II, extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian people and the state, with all its institutions, and foremost to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The grandeur of this monumental edifice is evident in its distinction as the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization — the ancient Egyptian civilization — which stands among the most significant, oldest, and greatest civilizations known to mankind. The museum also offers a unique and modern cultural and recreational experience, combining the authenticity of its rare collections with contemporary methods of display and engagement of visitors from all groups. This remarkable achievement is a proud addition to the growing list of accomplishments of our New Republic.
The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is an event that fills every Egyptian with pride and joy, inspiring reflection upon the greatness of our ancestors’ legacy and our duty to build a future for our beloved nation worthy of its glorious history.
We pray that God may preserve Egypt; its land, people, and leadership, and continue to bless it with achievements and progress.
