Today (Friday) H.H. Pope Tawadros II received today, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, the organizing team and media coverage team of the Sixth World Council of Churches Conference, which was held from October 13 to 28 at the LOGOS Center in the Monastery of St. Bishoy, Wadi El-Natroun, hosted by the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Eng. Sameh Salib, coordinator of the organizing team, expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for his continual support, care, and follow-up with the team members throughout the preparation period and during the conference itself.
H.G. Bishop Abraham, General Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles and member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches representing the Coptic Orthodox Church, delivered a speech in which he expressed his appreciation for His Holiness’s keen interest in the conference and his efforts to ensure all factors contributing to its success. He also praised the outstanding performance of the youth organizing team, which earned the admiration of the conference’s guests.
His Holiness then delivered a brief address highlighting four key qualities that characterized the organizing team:
Prayer: Prayer remained a constant element among the team members throughout their work, both before and during the conference.
Organization: Their work was carried out with precision and clear order.
Teamwork: Their efforts were marked by a strong spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and readiness to assist one another.
A Positive Image of the Coptic Church: The participants in the conference testified to the positive and honorable image presented by the team on behalf of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Following his address, His Holiness gave the youth an opportunity to share their reflections, experiences, and memorable moments encountered during the conference. A large number of them spoke in this regard.
