This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II attended the events of the second day of the “Nicaea… A Living Faith” celebration, organized by the Coptic Orthodox Church on the occasion of the 17th centenary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea.

The celebration, held at the Anba Reweis Theater in Saint Mark’s Cathedral, Abbassia, was attended by several metropolitans and bishops, the two General Deputies of the Patriarchates of Cairo and Alexandria, priests, monks, and the congregation from the dioceses of the Delta, the Canal area, and the pastoral sectors of Cairo and Alexandria.

The celebration included a poem written by the poet Amal Ghattas, followed by the operetta “Against the World,” presented by the team of the Historic Church of Saint Philopater Mercurius (Abu Sefein) in Old Cairo. The words of the operetta were based on the records of the Council of Nicaea.

His Holiness encouraged the team and thanked everyone who contributed to the production.
