This morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II cast his vote in the House of Representatives elections, the second phase of which began today and will continue until tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.
His Holiness proceeded to the polling station at the Martyr Emtyaz Kamel School in Abbasia, where he fulfilled his electoral duty.
After casting his vote, Pope Tawadros spoke to a number of journalists and television channels, emphasizing that the upcoming parliament needs individuals who are capable of serving society with a living conscience, expressing citizens’ needs sincerely, and supporting the state in its development efforts.
His Holiness added:“Participation in elections is not merely a right — it is a responsibility that contributes to shaping a better future for the nation.”
He addressed the voters with a call to choose wisely, noting that ethical, humanitarian, and professional standards must be the foundation of selection.
Pope Tawadros continued: “The required qualities in a candidate are not complicated, but they are essential. The candidate must be someone with knowledge and experience. A good candidate is one who presents a civilized image of Egypt and can represent it honorably before everyone.”
He concluded by saying: “Choose the honest and competent person.”
