His Holiness stated: The Word of God is good at all times, and every person must preserve it, chant it, meditate upon it, enter into its depths to understand it, and apply it to his life.
Before the commencement of the sermon of the weekly Wednesday meeting, H.H. Pope Tawadros II praised the efforts of the Bible Society in serving the Word of God.
Pope Tawadros held today’s Wednesday meeting at Saint Mary’s Church in Ard El-Sharika; El-Sharabeya district. At the end of the sermon, His Holiness announced the temporary suspension of the meeting, to be resumed in conjunction with the beginning of the Great Lent.
Speaking about the Bible Society, His Holiness said: “I welcome all the leaders of the Bible Society, which is the House of the Bible and an ancient institution with a great history extending for 150 years. It is considered the sole body entrusted with printing the Holy Bible throughout the world.
The Bible Society in Egypt is among the oldest societies. It continues to advance and develop, offering the Word of God in various colors, forms, images, and multiple technological applications that suit everyone in every place and time. How beautiful it is for a person to live within the Bible and to become himself a Bible read by people. It is good to present the Holy Bible and what pertains to it as a beautiful gift to others.”
He added: “There is a well-known saying that goes, How delightful it is to travel through the pages of a book. What then if this book is the Holy Bible? The delight is multiplied, as we see the Scripture saying: “And in His law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:2). The Word of God is good in the morning and in the evening, at all times, and for every person. Everyone must preserve it, speak it, chant it, live by it, meditate upon it, enter into its depths to understand it, and apply it to his life.”
