Today (Thursday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Alexandria, H.H. Patriarch Theodoros II, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa of the Greek Orthodox Church, along with his accompanying delegation, who came to offer their festive greetings.
In a gracious gesture, Pope Tawadros and those accompanying him chanted a hymn in the Greek language on the occasion of the beginning of the new year. The two sides exchanged greetings and well-wishes for peace to prevail throughout the world. Pope Tawadros also presented a commemorative gift— a Coptic icon of Saint Joseph the Carpenter featuring notable Egyptian landmarks and antiquities.
The meeting was attended by H.G. Pavly (General Bishop of the Montazah Churches Sector), H.G. Bishop Hermina (General Bishop of the Eastern Alexandria Churches Sector), and Hegumen Abraam Emil (General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria).
