H.H. Pope Tawadros II received, at the Papal Residence in Alexandria, a group of youth from the Church of Virgin Mary and St. Pakhomious, and the Church of Virgin Mary and St. Demiana, belonging to the Diocese of New York, who were accompanied by the priests of both churches. The meeting was attended by the two General Bishops overseeing the pastoral sectors in Alexandria: H.G. Bishop Pavly (Montaza Sector) and H.G. Bishop Hermina (Eastern Alexandria Sector), as well as Hegumen Abraam Emil (General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria).
During his talk, His Holiness commended their dedication to offering services to their brothers and sisters in Egypt. He spoke to the group, consisting of 80 participants, about the significance of the time granted to mankind by God, using the letters of the word “TIME” as follows:
- T = Today— the importance of not procrastinating.
- I = Investment— how to invest one’s time.
- M = Mission— the tasks required.
- E = Eternity — eternity as the ultimate purpose of the talent of time.
Pope Tawadros then answered their questions, and discussed some of the topics they raised. He concluded by distributing gifts to them, and commemorative photographs were taken.
