Prime Minister: These occasions always represent a great opportunity to express love and closeness among the sons of one nation.
His Holiness: Praises the government’s attention and its continued emphasis on the importance of the health and education sectors as fundamental pillars of human development.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received, on Sunday morning, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, who came to offer greetings on the occasion of the Glorious Feast of the Nativity.

The Prime Minister expressed his sincere and heartfelt greetings to His Holiness and to all Christian Egyptian citizens at home and abroad on this occasion, praying to Almighty God to grant that this feast returns upon His Holiness and all the sons of Egypt’s Christians with goodness, blessing, and growth.

During the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his appreciation for the national and societal role undertaken by the Coptic Orthodox Church, under the leadership of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, in strengthening the principles of citizenship and reinforcing the spirit of brotherhood among all Egyptians. He affirmed that such occasions always represent a great opportunity to demonstrate love and closeness among the people of one nation.

The Prime Minister said to His Holiness:
“I am always keen to be present with Your Holiness on this day. As Your Holiness knows, I hold great love and appreciation for your esteemed person, as a truly great national figure in every sense of the word. There is deep appreciation for the significant efforts you exert, and we always pray that God grants you abundant health, wisdom, and success. A blessed and joyful Feast of the Nativity to all Christian citizens.”

For his part, His Holiness expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the Prime Minister’s visit and greetings, which embody the depth of fraternal ties uniting the sons of one nation and reflect the spirit of love among all Egyptians. His Holiness expressed his hope that the new year would be a happy one for everyone and for our beloved homeland.

His Holiness also commended the efforts exerted by the State, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in various fields, praising the government’s attention and its continued emphasis on the importance of the health and education sectors as fundamental pillars in the journey of human development.

His Holiness added:
“We face challenges like any country in the world; however, the government, headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, is keen to explain and clarify developments to citizens on an ongoing basis. As citizens, it is important for us to understand the current situation in all sectors. Despite the successive crises surrounding us, the most important matter remains the establishment of peace and security. We extend our thanks for the achievements that bring us joy and give us hope that everything is progressing and advancing. Planting hope in people’s hearts is extremely important.”

His Holiness noted that he had previously visited the Prime Minister at the government headquarters in New Alamein City, accompanied by a group of Egyptian youth from the diaspora, who expressed their admiration for the city and described it as “Egypt’s San Francisco.”

In response, the Prime Minister stated that this year is better than previous years, with tangible improvement in most sectors, and that conditions have become far better than before. He expressed hope for the prayers of His Holiness and all Egyptians that matters continue to improve, noting the grave events taking place in the region and thanking Almighty God for blessing Egypt with peace, security, stability, and progress, praying that these blessings may endure for our beloved country.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly added that he always seeks to instill good news in the hearts of all Egyptians that conditions are improving day by day, based on what he witnesses on the ground of achievements and developmental and service projects being realized.
