His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received, on Thursday, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac, Patriarch of the Coptic Catholics, and His Beatitude Patriarch Youssef Absi, Patriarch of Antioch, the Entire East, Alexandria, and Jerusalem of the Melkite Greek Catholics, who came to extend greetings to His Holiness on the occasion of the New Year and the Glorious Feast of the Nativity.
The accompanying delegation comprised the heads of the Catholic Churches in Egypt, including Their Graces Bishop Krikor Augustinos Coussa, Armenian Catholic Bishop; Bishop George Shihan, Maronite Bishop; Bishop Jean-Marie Chami, Melkite Greek Catholic Bishop; Bishop Elie Wardé, Syriac Catholic Bishop in Egypt; Chorbishop Boulos Sati, Head of the Chaldean Community; in addition to representatives of the Coptic Catholic bishops, sisters of religious orders, and a number of Catholic institutions in Egypt.
The delegation of the Catholic Churches was received by Their Graces Bishop Yolios, General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Diocese of Public, Social, and Ecumenical Services; Bishop Angelos, General Bishop of the Churches of North Shubra; Bishop Markos, Bishop of Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, and El-Barari, and Abbot of the Monastery of St. Demiana in El-Barari, and Assistant Secretary of the Holy Synod; Hegumen Fr. Sergius Sergius, General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Cairo; Monk Fr. Emmanuel Al-Muharraqy, Director of the Papal Office; Hegumen Fr. Moussa Ibrahim, Spokesman of the Coptic Orthodox Church; Fr. Raphael Ramzy and Deacon Joseph Reda from the Secretariat of His Holiness; and Ms. Barbara Suleiman, Director of the Papal Office for Projects and Relations.
