His Holiness Pope Tawadros II inaugurated yesterday evening the Coptic Monasticism Seminar for the Convents of Nuns in Egypt and abroad. The seminar is being held over six days at the headquarters of St. Mark’s Coptic Academy at the LOGOS Center of the Monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi El-Natrun.
The opening lecture delivered by His Holiness was entitled “An Introduction to the Letters of St. Anthony.”
Throughout its six-day program, the seminar discusses the letters of St. Anthony the Great, the Father of Monasticism. It also addresses monastic counsels drawn from the epistles of St. Paul the Apostle, including virginity, obedience, voluntary poverty, brotherly love, patience, and endurance.
This morning, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II prayed the Divine Liturgy at the “Creed” Church of St. Mark’s Coptic Academy, with the participation of His Grace Bishop Daniel St. Paul, Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery of St. Paul, Red Sea, Head of the Monasticism and Monasteries and Convents Committee, along with the nuns participating in the seminar.
