His Holiness Pope Tawadros II met today with the monastic community of St. Anthony Monastery in Obersiebenbrunn, in the first of his pastoral activities in Austria.
His Holiness spoke to them about the person of the Resurrection, noting three qualities that characterize such a person:
- A Person of Light
For this reason, we pray at the beginning of the daily Tasbeha: “Arise, O children of the light.” A person of light loves the light and becomes radiant in every word and action. He also loves uprightness, as the Lord said: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14), meaning that you are the righteousness of the world. Let your words be truthful: yes, yes; no, no. - A Person of “Alleluia”
This is one who loves joy. The word “Alleluia” is mentioned in the New Testament only in the Book of Revelation, chapter 19, where it appears three times. - A Person of “Eirene Pasi”
Meaning one who loves peace, a person who sows peace. As the Lord said: “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9).
