His Holiness Pope Tawadros II held a meeting today, Friday, with the priests of the Diocese of Milan, as part of his current pastoral visit to Italy.
The meeting took place at the Cathedral of Saint Mark the Apostle in Venice, at the headquarters of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Europe.
His Holiness checked on their pastoral ministry and spoke with them about the light of the Resurrection and its effects in the life of the priest. He noted that repentance grants a person this light, while one who is far from the light neither understands nor perceives the light of the Resurrection.
His Holiness identified five signs of the light of the Resurrection:
- Cheerfulness
- Speech
- One’s outlook on matters
- Positive action
- The heart
His Holiness also held a similar meeting with the priests’ wives, during which he inquired about their well-being and delivered an appropriate spiritual message to them.
