The interview was conducted by Croatian journalist Romano Bolković, host of the program “One-on-One.” The discussion addressed the identity and spirituality of the Coptic Orthodox Church, as well as its theological and liturgical characteristics and rich historical heritage.
The interview also explored the influence of the ministry of the Pope of Alexandria and the ability of the Coptic Orthodox Church to remain steadfast and enduring throughout the centuries.
On a personal level, Bolković spoke with Pope Tawadros II about the transformation in his life journey from pharmacist to spiritual leader, in addition to the challenges of leading the Church in the contemporary world. The conversation further addressed the relationship between Church and State in Egypt, coexistence between Christians and Muslims, the role of youth in the Church, relations with the Catholic Church, and dialogue among Christians.
The interview also touched on the challenges facing Christians in the Middle East, the role of religious leaders in combating extremism, and the possibility of religion serving as a bridge for communication among peoples.
