The meetings of the main committees of the Holy Synod commenced this morning as part of its annual session.
During the first session of the day, the Committee for Pastoral Care and Service and the Committee for Diocesan Affairs convened, where reports submitted by the subcommittees of both main committees were discussed. Following the discussions, the members agreed upon the recommendations to be presented during the general session of the Holy Synod.
As part of following up on the work of the Synodal committees, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II attended a portion of the meeting of the Committee for Diocesan Affairs, where he reviewed with the members several of the topics presented for discussion.
The Committee for Pastoral Care and Service includes the following subcommittees:
- The Hope Centers and Hospitals Committee
- The Social Care and Development Committee
- The Addiction Recovery Committee
- The Mental Health Committee
- The Special Needs Committee
- The Social Protection Committee
Meanwhile, the Committee for Diocesan Affairs includes:
- The Lower Egypt Clergy Care Committee
- The Upper Egypt Clergy Care Committee
- The Consecration Committee
- The Diocesan Documentation Committee
