Today (Tuesday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Headquarters in Cairo, Mr. Robert Silverman, Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America in Cairo.

During the meeting, His Holiness provided an overview of Egypt’s ancient civilization, highlighting its rich history and its unique cultural and human heritage. The discussion also addressed the Coptic presence in the United States and the role of the Coptic Orthodox Church in serving its faithful there.

For his part, Mr. Robert Silverman expressed his appreciation for the wisdom and leadership of Pope Tawadros, while commending the achievements Egypt has accomplished in recent years.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of Mission extended an invitation to His Holiness to visit the United States, in light of the large number of Egyptian Christians residing there and the spiritual and pastoral significance such a visit would hold for members of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the diaspora.
