This (Saturday) morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II inaugurated the sixth employment fair, “Job Hub 6,” in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Labor, the Governor of Cairo, and the Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.

Following the opening ceremony, the fair officially commenced. It was organized by the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services in cooperation with the “Basmat Shabab Misr” (Youth of Egypt Footprint) Initiative, the Ministries of Labor and Youth and Sports, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), EgyCopt Foundation, and a number of leading private-sector companies.

During the press conference held after the inauguration, Pope Tawadros expressed his delight with the event and the large turnout of young job seekers. He commended the strong participation of government representatives, including ministers, agencies, and partner institutions, and praised the Bishopric of Public Services for undertaking the organization of such a significant initiative.

His Holiness also expressed his hope that the fair—considered a true opportunity to contribute to productivity and development—would achieve great success. He stated: “This is a remarkable initiative that contributes in a civilized and constructive manner to development and economic growth. I hope that every individual will find a place, employment, and an opportunity for achievement.”

He concluded by saying: “I congratulate all participants and thank them for their efforts and involvement. I warmly welcome the ministers and all officials present. This collective participation is both productive and purposeful, serving the best interests of our nation.”

For his part, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Gohar Nabil, expressed his gratitude to H.H. Pope Tawadros II and to the Coptic Orthodox Church, noting that the employment fair demonstrates the importance of collective action in achieving multiple objectives.

He added: “Today, through the Cathedral, Pope Tawadros, the ministers, the relevant authorities, and the sponsors, we have come together around one goal: to create hope for young people through employment opportunities. This gives us great optimism for the Egyptian state, as it reflects our ability to achieve goals, aspirations, and meaningful outcomes through collaborative work.”

The Minister of Labor, Mr. Hassan Raddad, also thanked His Holiness, the Church institutions, and the companies that contributed to providing employment opportunities. He emphasized that the foundation of the New Republic, for which everyone is working with full dedication, is partnership with the private sector through job creation, investment promotion, and economic development.

He stated: “Today, through the employment fair, we are providing job opportunities in cooperation with private-sector companies. The event also enables us to better understand the needs of young people and the training programs required to develop their skills.”

Meanwhile, H.G. Bishop Yolyos, Bishop of Public and Social Services, paid tribute to His Holiness for sponsoring and hosting the fair at the Cathedral. He also extended his thanks to the Ministers of Youth and Labor, the Governor of Cairo, and all partner organizations.

H.H. Pope Tawadros II During the Official Session of the “Job Hub 6” Employment Forum: “Work Is Hope for the Nation, for Every Family, and for Every Young Person; We Bear a Great Responsibility to Instill a Love of Work in Our Youth and to Provide Employment Opportunities for Them.”

The official session of the “Job Hub 6” Employment Forum was held today (Saturday), at the Papal Residence in Cairo. Earlier in the morning, the forum was inaugurated by H.H. Pope Tawadros II, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Labor, the Governor of Cairo, and the Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.

The forum was organized by the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services of the Coptic Orthodox Church, in cooperation with the “Basmat Shabab Misr” (Youth of Egypt Footprint) Initiative, the Ministries of Labor and Youth and Sports, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), the EgyCopt Foundation, and a number of leading private-sector companies.

The official session featured addresses by Mr. Gohar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports; Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor; H.G. Bishop Yolyos, Bishop of Public and Social Services; Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work; and Dr. Kyrillos Samir, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Basmat Shabab Misr Initiative. The session also included a presentation highlighting the initiative’s most prominent activities and achievements.

In his address, His Holiness affirmed that work is the source of hope, emphasizing that there is no path for Egypt to advance and attain its rightful place among the nations except through work.

He stated: “We need to cultivate a culture of work among our sons and daughters. A society such as China grew, expanded, and came to be known as ‘the world’s factory’ across all fields of production because of its culture of work.”

His Holiness commended the spirit of unity, solidarity, and cooperation embodied by the “Job Hub 6” Forum and praised the collaborative efforts of all participating entities.

He further stressed the importance of instilling the value and culture of work in young people, adding:“Work is hope for the nation, for every family, and for every young person. There is no other way.”

He continued: “Every family that has a graduate who is unemployed possesses untapped potential. Therefore, as officials, professional associations, and government ministries, we bear a significant responsibility to provide employment opportunities for these young people, so that we may foster a love of work in our children, encourage them, and move away from a culture of dependency.”

Pope Tawadros also noted that when young people are engaged in productive work, many social problems diminish, including thuggery, family disintegration, illegal migration, substance abuse, and other societal challenges.

Concluding his remarks, he said: “I thank everyone in attendance, the young people for their participation, and all the organizations that presented their services. I hope that this event will be repeated, and I always say that work is hope for every person in our homeland.”
