Today (Saturday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the State Information Service, at the Papal Residence in Cairo.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the efforts of the State Information Service in presenting a comprehensive and accurate image of Egypt that reflects its historical depth, developmental progress, and future vision. The discussion also addressed the Service’s role in raising awareness among young people and emerging generations and in strengthening their sense of national belonging.

Pope Tawadros commended the important role played by the State Information Service in this regard, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to highlight Egypt’s unique civilizational assets, foremost among them the Holy Family Trail, which represents one of the most significant spiritual and historical landmarks of global importance.

His Holiness also referred to the historical significance of the Coptic monasteries spread throughout the country, some of which date back to the fourth century AD. He stressed the importance of introducing all segments of Egyptian society to this rich heritage, given its cultural, civilizational, and human significance and its contribution to strengthening national identity.

For his part, Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the State Information Service, expressed his deep appreciation for the national role played by the Egyptian Church under the leadership of H.H. Pope Tawadros II. He affirmed that the Church constitutes a fundamental pillar in promoting the values of citizenship, tolerance, and national belonging, in addition to its vital role in fostering public awareness and preserving Egypt’s authentic national identity.

He also praised the Church’s historic role in supporting the stability of the Egyptian state and backing its efforts in addressing various challenges, reflecting a unique model of national unity and solidarity among the people of Egypt.
