Today (Monday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Mr. Axel Wabenhorst, Ambassador of Australia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Egypt.

The Australian Ambassador expressed his pleasure at having spent four years in Egypt, noting that throughout his tenure he witnessed the spirit of peaceful coexistence that characterizes Egyptian society. He also emphasized that he wished to meet His Holiness to bid him farewell and to express his gratitude for the cooperation and support he received during his diplomatic service.

For his part, Pope Tawadros expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts and wished him every success in his future responsibilities. He also expressed the hope that the Ambassador would continue to visit Egypt in the future and enjoy the country’s rich tourism, historical heritage, and civilization.
