This (Tuesday) evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II anointed the sacred relics of Saint Bishoy, known as “the Perfect Man, the Beloved of Our Good Savior,” which are preserved at the ancient monastery bearing his name in Wadi El Natroun. The occasion marked the saint’s feast, which the Coptic Orthodox Church commemorates annually on 15 July (8 Abib).
The saint’s body, preserved within its reliquary, was brought forth, and His Holiness performed the rite of anointing in the presence of H.G. Bishop Aghabious, Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery, together with a number of bishops.
Following the anointing, His Holiness met with the monks of the monastery, during which he delivered a spiritual talk relevant to the occasion.
