Today (Tuesday), H.H Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo, a group of servants from several churches in the Diocese of New York and New England, who also serve with C.Y.C., a media ministry dedicated to the youth of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the diaspora. They were accompanied by Dr. Hany Ashmallah.

The group visited Egypt as part of a mission that included tours of a number of churches and monasteries in Upper Egypt and Wadi El Natroun. Over the course of two weeks, they also conducted a variety of educational and awareness programs in churches across the governorates of Minya, Sohag, Qena, and Luxor. During their visit, they served more than 150 families in underprivileged communities, as well as 260 children in Upper Egypt and El-Khattatba.

His Holiness expressed his joy at the enthusiasm and dedication of these young servants, who had traveled specifically to Egypt to serve their brothers and sisters.

He also highlighted Egypt’s unique civilizational, historical, and geographical significance, noting that the Coptic Orthodox Church is distinguished by its sound doctrine, service, martyrdom, and monasticism.

Following his address, His Holiness answered the young people’s questions and inquiries. At the conclusion of the meeting, he presented them with commemorative gifts.
