Located Ras Sedr in South Sinai Governorate
The monastery was established after the approval of the thrice-blessed Pope Shenouda III. The wilderness of Sinai was full of Coptic monasticism and many well-known fathers lived there, including anchorites. Until now there is a mountain in the city of Catherine Mountain known as Children of Abou Makar Mountain, along with the remnants of monasteries in the city of El-Tor, Sinai, including the Monastery of the Bells, as well as mentions of monastic presence in other cities
Pope Shenouda III chose the name of Moses the Prophet for the new monastery because he lived in the wilderness for 40 years leading the people of Israel
Abbott: Bishop Apollo
– 20 monks have been residing in the monastery since it was officially recognized by the Holy Synod in its session on October 10, 2011, led by Pope Shenouda III
