Location at the 90-km marker of Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road
The thrice-bless Pope Shenouda III commission Boutros, the General Bishop and the Pope’s secretary at the time to establish the monastery to be the first in the modern age in the Suez Canal region, considering that this area was call Pelusium (El-Farama) and was full of ancient monasteries. On November 15, 2011, Bishop Boutros and four bishops went to the area establish the seed for the monastery: (1) Bishop Agapius of Deir Mawas (Minya), (2) Bishop Apollo of South Sinai and Abbott of Moses the Prophet Monastery – Sinai, (3) Bishop Athanasius of Beni Mazar (Minya), and (4) Bishop Danial, Abbot of St. Paul the Anchorite Monastery (Red Sea). The bishops consecrated five novices to be the first group of monks in the monastery, and they take the names of the five bishops that were in attendance

– H.H. Pope Tawadros II issued Papal Decree 25-2015, which was published in the Kiraza magazine, issue 46, commissioning Bishop Maqar of El-Asher Men Ramadan to oversee the monastery spiritually, administratively, and financially, in preparation for its official recognition, and with the assistance of Hegumen Fr. Apollo El-Antony
– On January 13, 2016, on St. John the Beloved’s feast, H.H. the Pope changed the names of the novices in the monastery and ordained one of the monks a full deacon
– The monastery was officially recognized by the Holy Synod in its session in June 2019, led by H.H. Pope Tawadros II
