Today, Friday, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II visited the 2026 Conference for Priests and Childhood Servants, held over five days at the LOGOS Papal Center, St. Bishoy Monastery, Wadi El-Natrun, under the title “TETRAGON” and the slogan “We Are Built to Build.” The conference is organized by the Childhood Committee of the Holy Synod. His Grace Bishop Nofir, Bishop of Shibin El-Qanater and Rapporteur of the Childhood Committee, presented the conference’s vision and a report on the participating priests and servants representing dioceses of the See of St. Mark across Egypt. At the beginning of his lecture, His Holiness expressed his happiness with the conference, its vision, and its content, noting that “Children are seeds and flowers.” His Holiness then read Matthew 18, the chapter dedicated to childhood. His Holiness said: “If you have only a vision, you are a dreaming servant. If you have only a program, you are a working servant. But if you have both a vision and a program, you are a true servant. Childhood ministry is a talent entrusted to us, a sacred trust, and a responsibility.” His Holiness then outlined three principles of childhood ministry: His Holiness also identified five essential foundations of childhood ministry: His Holiness concluded his address by saying: “Children are precious souls to Christ, children are righteous souls before Christ, and children are souls in need of Christ.” His Holiness then asked the participants what they learn from children, explaining that God sends us special messages through them. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Grace Bishop Nofir presented His Holiness with a gift on behalf of the conference, and a commemorative group photograph was taken with His Holiness and the participants. Throughout the conference, discussions address several important topics, including technology and its impact on child development, children’s mental and spiritual health, fostering creativity and critical thinking, holistic education for new generations, and the role of the servant as an inspiring hero in ministry. These discussions aim to help children lead balanced lives and develop strong, well-rounded personalities. The title “TETRAGON” was chosen for the conference from a Greek word meaning “four angles” or “square,” symbolizing balance as an essential and fundamental value in human life.
