H.H. Pope Tawadros II celebrated the divine liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Thomas the Hermit Monastery in Khatatbah, after its consecration by H.H. today. Several bishops and the monastery’s monastic community also joined in the prayers, with the careful implementation of precautionary measures.
The three altars of the monastery’s cathedral were consecrated along with the Icon of the Pantocrator of the Sanctuary of each altar, as well as the iconostasis. The main altar was consecrated in the name of St. Thomas the Hermit, the northern to St. Victor the Martyr, and the southern to St. Severus Patriarch of Antioch.
