President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, arrived at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital, during the Christmas liturgy prayers, to congratulate His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and Egyptian Christians on the holiday.
In his congratulations, President El-Sisi said: “Merry Christmas, and God willing, the new year will be a year of love, mercy and peace for all, and he continued, saying that he directs his words to all Egyptians that we started a path in which we promised God and we promised you, and we started it together and we will complete it together, which is the path of the new republic.
He added that the new republic accommodates everyone without any distinction or discrimination, we live in peace and security together, and I say to all Egyptians, we must make sure that no one enters between us or sows discord among us.
And he continued, saying: “God helps me to be an honest and honourable servant of this country and of all of you, and this homeland is the homeland of everyone and expands for everyone.” He is the one who causes it.
His Excellency affirmed that the new republic is the republic of dream, hope, science and action, and it is a strong, non-brutal, and peaceful republic that does not surrender, but we must all be of the same heart, and happy new year, Egypt is fine, and the whole world is fine.
His Excellency concluded his speech by saying that he would have wanted to shake hands with everyone, had it not been for the circumstances of the pandemic, stressing the extent of the appreciation and love that he had for His Holiness Pope Tawadros II because men are weighed by difficult circumstances and situations, and that His Holiness Pope Tawadros II has great value to everyone, calling on the children of the Church to say, “You are also necessary to take care of him.”
The Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the Administrative Capital, which was inaugurated by President AbdElFattah El-Sisi two years ago, is the largest in the Middle East.
