His Holiness held a meeting for the regional Clerical Councils in Egypt and Africa at the Logos Center of the Papal Residence at St. Bishoy Monastery – Wadi El-Natrun, Egypt.
These councils are headed by:
– Bishop Markos of Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, and St. Demiana Convent, Egypt, for the Cairo & Africa Clerical Council (His Grace apologized for not attending out of health concerns)
– Metropolitan Morcos of Shoubra Al-Kheima – Qalyubia, Egypt, for the Alexandria & Lower Egypt Clerical Council
– Bishop Estephanos of Beba & Al-Fashn – Beni Suef, Egypt, for the Upper Egypt Clerical Council
In addition to Their Graces attending, all the priests, lawyers, and physicians of each council attended, as well as the newly-appointed heads for the next three-year term, beginning in July 2021:
– Bishop Ghabrial of Beni Suef, Egypt, for the Upper Egypt Clerical Council
– Bishop Karas, General Bishop for the Diocese of Mahalla – Gharbia, Egypt, for the Alexandria & Lower Egypt Clerical Council
– Bishop Angelos, General Bishop for the Churches of North Shoubra – Cairo, Egypt, for the Cairo & Africa Clerical Council
There will be a future meeting held for the three Clerical Councils in Europe, North America, and Australia
