This morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II along with a church delegation visited the Egyptian Air Force Museum. The museum offers a wide view of the history of the Egyptian Air Force. It contains a historical origin hall which consisted of a passage of wall-model aircrafts of a variety of models and photographs of the Air Force commanders since the beginning of its inception, alongside their roles and medals, as well as a hall containing rare photographs documenting the participation of the Air Force in various wars beginning with World War I and II.
H.H. and his accompanying delegation were received by Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Commander of the Air Force with several veterans and Air Force officers. At the end of the visit, the Lieutenant General thanked H.H. for honouring them, and thanked the former Air Force commanders and veterans who were present.
Major General Nabil Ezzat, one of the veterans, thanked H.H. for his visit to the Air Force Museum and to Lieutenant General also for arranging this great visit. Moreover, he thanked and offered his gratitude to all those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the survival of the nation. He also thanked President Al-Sisi for everything he offers to our nation, for we meet today in a nation that loves him.
In his speech, H.H. expressed his gladness for the tour he received inside the museum and thanked Lieutenant General Mohammed Abbas Helmy, Major General Magdy Dwidar and all attendees.
In his speech, H.H. pointed out that the museum offers three dimensions:
- The National Dimension: The museum shows us the men of our homeland and martyrs. Egypt our nation, of all the countries in the world, is unique for its history and geography, and whoever visits this museum will feel patriotic.
- The Educational Dimension: What the museum planted inside the hearts of children is great, cultivating within them an early love for becoming a pilot or an officer. The museum grants the child an opportunity for his imagination to soar just as you take off with your planes.
- The Scientific Dimension: The embodiment of science through the museum is a wonderful thing.
I salute all the men of the Air Force, thank you all and I encourage our children and youth to visit this magnificent museum.
