This evening at the Papal Residence in Cairo, H.H. Pope Tawadros II held the Wednesday weekly meeting. The sermon was broadcast live on Christian satellite channels including the C.O.C Channel of the Church’s Media Center, and without the attendance of the public.
Today H.H. the Pope continued his sermon titled “Epistle of Joy” through a reading of the Epistle to the Philippians, which is characterized by its spirit of joy, a subject H.H. began addressing since the week prior to the last in his explanation and contemplation of the first chapter of the Epistle to the Philippians, while in today’s sermon he discussed the second chapter.
H.H. had indicated at the beginning of his Wednesday sermon, the week prior to the last, that in the upcoming weeks he will deal with themes of joy through the remaining chapters of the Epistle to the Philippians, which is also known as “The Epistle of Joy,” upon the return of the meeting now that the period of the Holy Fifty Days had concluded, as well as mentioned the current need for people to feel joy and reassurance after they had gone through painful periods due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus as the number of people infected begins to decrease.
At the beginning of his talk, H.H. Pope Tawadros II had also referred to the topic of the Renaissance Dam before he began his sermon. H.H. also explained the various efforts made by the Egyptian government agencies with respect to this file and added that he prayed for the success of the diplomatic efforts made to avoid entering the Horn of Africa into conflicts and wars.
