Today, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II visited Beheira Governorate to participate in the celebration of the Diocese of Beheira, Matrouh, and the five western cities of the golden jubilee of the ordination of His Eminence Metropolitan Pakhomious, the current Metropolitan of the diocese, bishop of the diocese, (12 December 1971 – 12 December 2021).

His Holiness arrived at the headquarters of the Diocese of El-Beheira in Damanhour this afternoon, and he was received by His Eminence Metropolitan Pakhomius and several church rabbis and the priests of El-Beheira.
Where he held a meeting with Major General Hisham Amna, Beheira Governorate, and a number of the governorate’s leaders.
Then he opened, accompanied by the Governor, The Golden Jubilee exhibition, which contains photographs and paintings, depicting the pastoral journey of His Eminence Metropolitan Pakhomius during 50 years.

This was followed by the ceremony, which was held at St. Mark’s Church, which included a hymn segment for the choir team and clips from the documentary film “A Metropolitan of Gold”, along with several words, including the speech of His Holiness the Pope, Major General Hisham Amna, and concluded with a speech by His Eminence Metropolitan Pakhomius.
