Today Morning, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church, and his accompanying delegation, at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria.

Where the deacons of St. Mark’s church received their Holinesses with tunes, and His Holiness Pope Tawadros II delivered a speech welcoming His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, followed by a speech by His Beatitude. After that, Fr. Abraam Emil, representative of the Patriarchate in Alexandria gave an explanation of the history of the Church of Alexandria. The two Holinesses then visited the shrine of St. Mark the Apostle and the Theological College in Alexandria, and exchanged gifts memorial.
