His Holiness Pope Tawadros II greets President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Armed Forces and all Egyptians on the victory of October 1973.
His Holiness spoke about this at the beginning of his weekly sermon on Wednesday held this evening in St. Virgin Mary’s and St. Bishoy Cathedral in Abbaseya.
His Holiness said: “We all, the Egyptians rejoice at the memorial event of the victory of October 1973, and the adults among us remember how glorious these days were, not only for Egypt but for all Arabs.”
His Holiness also added: “ We greet all Egyptians and firstly his Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and we greet our Armed Forces, all the soldiers, all leaders and all workers in the Armed Forces which are Egypt’s army and Egypt’s pride.”
His Holiness also commented on the President’s position during the educational seminar that was organised by the Armed Forces yesterday saying: “In fact, yesterday, the President, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, offered a very high humanitarian and patriotic appreciation when he saluted a number of heroes of October war, who talked about their heroic actions. This was truly a great gesture that the Supreme Commander salutes out of patriotism, out of appreciation and out of loyalty”.
“We greet out President, out Armed Forces, and all the heroes that contributed to the Victory of October which was a main key in restoring our land that was seized in 1967.
