His Holiness Pope Tawadros II witnessed today at the Papal Residence in Cairo the graduation ceremony of a new graduating year of the Ecumenical Institute for the Middle East. His Holiness gave a speech on how interesting are the Ecumenical studies and that it is growing in all churches. Also, that the relationship between churches consists of four steps: love, education, communication and prayers. If we follow the four steps, we will reach the heart of our Lord Jesus Christ and the unity of the churches.
His Holiness concluded saying: “The second thing in Ecumenism studies is the teaching of The Holy Bible on the verse that says:
“Two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9), and I also want to mention that “ a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
The threefold cord is:
1- An open mind, which is a gift from God
2- A big heart
3- A humble soul
Several speeches were also delivered by Dr. Zahy Asar, Dr. Kamil William Samaan, Professor of the Bible at the Catholic College of Theology, Engineer Moussa Mehany, Associate Regional Secretary of the World Student Christian Union, and Dr. Hani Han, Dean of Evangelical Theology College, and His Grace Bishop Yolious, General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Bishopric of Public, Social and Ecumenical Services.
