This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II Witnesses the Graduation Ceremony of the 17th class of the Institute of Orthotherapeutic Counselling which is affiliated to the Diocese of Maadi.
The Ceremony was held at St. Rewis’ Theatre at St. Mark’s Cathedral Abbaseya. This graduation year is first year to study by the credit hour system.
The Ceremony was attended by Bishops and H.E. Metropolitan Danial, Metropolitan of the Diocese and Secretary of the Holy Synod and the Dean of the Institute, as well as H.G. Bishop Temotheos, Bishop of Zagazig and Minya El Qamh and H.G. Bishop Pavly, General Bishop of Montaza, Alexandria and the Supervisor of the Youth Services in Alexandria.
The Ceremony was also attended by the Institute members of Zagazig and Montaza.
A number of speeches were given by the Bishops, Fr Makaris Maurice the Director of the Institute, and some of the graduates .
At the beginning of the speech, H.H. congratulated H.E. Metropolitan Danial his ordination as a Metropolitan.
H.H. also graduated the Institute management, tutors and graduates and H.H. spoke about three points:
– The family is a blessing: to exist and grow in a blessed family or to help in creating a family is a great blessing and grace.
– The sanctity of a family is a duty: as we face technological and globalisation challenges
– Importance of protecting the family: and this is what the Institute provides through the spread of the thought and services of counselling.
H.H. commended the presence of academic professors in the Institute as this consolidates the foundation in counselling.
The Ceremony concluded with the graduation of 64 graduates, in addition to 22 Sisters and Priests’ wives who have completed their course.
