His Holiness Pope Tawadros II have delegated a Church deputation to travel to the Eritrean capital, Asmara, to represent the Coptic Orthodox Church in offering condolences and participating in the funeral prayers of Abune Kyrillos I, Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Church, which will be held on Thursday, in the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary in Asmara.
The Church delegation consisted of
– H.E. Metropolitan Bakhoum, Metropolitan of Sohag, Manshaa & Maragha
– H.E. Metropolitan Tomas, Metropolitan of Qusiyyah & Mir
– H.E. Metropolitan Biemen, Metropolitan of Naqada & Qous
– Fr. Kirollos St Bishoy, Director of His Holiness’ office
– Fr. Angelos El Nekadi
Patriarch Abune Kyrillos I rested in peace last Friday at the age of 96, and His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church mourned him.
