This evening , H.H. Pope Tawadros II Met the Priests of the Churches of Almaza, Amal City & East Nasr City at the new Administrative Building that is affiliated to the Papal Residence at St Mark’s Cathedral, Abbaseya, with the presence of H.G. Bishop Eklemandos, General Bishop of Almaza, Amal City & East Nasr City, and the priests of the district and their families.
H.G. Bishop Eklemandos expressed his gratitude and appreciation to H.H. for his love and care to the Churches of the district which is under His Holiness’ patronage. H.G. also congratulated H.H. for the 10th anniversary of his Enthronement and for the inauguration of the new Administrative Building. H.G. presented to H.H. a report for the services in the Churches of the district, inviting H.H. for a visit to the Churches.
At the beginning, H.H. welcomed H.G., the priests and their families, referring to that meeting as the first meeting of the priests hosted in the new Administrative Building.
H.H. then read from the Epistle of Philippians, chapter 3, “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:7-11)
H.H. spoke about the “The Concept of Spiritual Life”, where H.H. indicated that the concept of spiritual life can be monitored through:
1- Thoughts: and the signs of it are:
– Balance: where the person should be sane, worker and worshiper
– The image that we live with: and that is God (the Grace), the church (the Sacraments), human (striving), that is, we receive the grace of God through the Church and Sacraments by striving
– Principles: and this is through continuity, moderation and apprenticeship
2- Behaviour, and this is:
– Stages: that is, we start with a small seed which plants and produces fruits
– Encouragements: and that is, a spiritual father, a spiritual system and a spiritual environment
– Obstacles: such as the self, copying others and diabolic wars.
Then H.H. had a discussion with the priests and listened to their questions. At the end, H.H. gave them memorial gifts and a memorial picture was taken.
